Answer 1 :
waterpark maybe?
Answer 2 :
You cannot legally work in the US until you are 15 years old. Otherwise, you can babysit or mow lawns
Answer 3 :
at the mall there are plenty of sales positions and more? there's the cashiers, eatery, bakery, coffee shops and more? Just check which ones are hiring 14 year for the summer? Good Luck
Answer 4 :
check with your local church or community placement service. i think you will also have to have a work permit from your legal guardian or parent. but you probably dont have a high school diploma yet and a 'real company' requires that at the minimum.

About I live in Dallas, but work in Houston

I live in Dallas, but work in Houston..?
Situation: I live in Dallas, but work full-time in Houston. I come to Houston every Sunday evening to work from Monday thru Friday. Then Friday evenings, I return to Dallas to be with my family. My question is, can I deduct the gas that I'm using to come to Houston to work? During my time in Houston, I stay with family.

Answer 1 :
I think so
Answer 2 :
Generally, NO. We all have to commute back and forth to work. Yours is just a bit longer than most.
Answer 3 :
Prob. not, since your "tax home" is in Houston.
Answer 4 :
If this is a permanent situation (one expected to last one year or more from when it began), no. However, if you were to move to Houston, then you could deduct your moving expenses. If this is a temporary situation expected to end less than one year after it began, after which you will resume working in Dallas, then you might be able to deduct travel expenses, including gas and 50% of meals.

Have you checked local businesses within walking distance or the bus schedules to see where you can conveniently get to? Once you know what areas you can get to and when then you can start applying. Most places these days have online applications.

About where's the best place in Houston to work as a waiter

Where's the best place in Houston to work as a waiter?
I'm looking to change restaurants as business at the one I'm working at now is a joke. Some of the things I'm looking for are: 1. A restaurant that's hiring (obviously) 2. Great tips (again, obviously) 3. Casual atmosphere with upscale clientele 4. Light to moderate side work Any help or suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

I'm not sure if they're hiring but I've heard you get good tips at Steak & Ale
Answer 2 :
Hooters
Answer 3 :
It depends what side of town you live and do you have adequete transportation. The Cafe Abode on Montrose and Westheimer is always packed. They are not snooty upscale, but these folks have cash. Check and see if they are hiring. If not anywhere around that area is where I would go. Good Luck!
