Answer 1 :
i would say upn
Answer 2 :
Try chron.com or snagajob.com. chron.com is our local newspaper and has lots of job listings. You sure you wanna move to Houston? ;P The freeways are INSANE!
Answer 3 :
I think you want to look into advertising agencies. I was in marcomm field after college. I remembered big companies didn't like to hire newly grads, unless you were their summer intern. However, you can get your feet wet by applying with temp agencies and visiting lots of career fairs. You can look at chron.com for any upcoming fairs. Also, join network groups like Chambers of Commerce or local chapter of professional groups, like American Marketing Association. Not sure about "media companies", I wonder if you want to work for TV stations or publishers. That would require additional experiences.
Answer 4 :
KTRK has a great staff of people and they're always looking for quality people. Stay away from the Houston Chronicle because they're laying off people left and right. The City governments are looking for PR people like the City of Houston and the City of Sugar Land. Find where you'll be living and contact them. Other wise... Go to www.simplyhired.com to view more options.
Answer 5 :
Try Christian Impact News! www.christianimpactnews.com call (281) 791-0200 ext. 71 (Jack Byars, Publisher) call him, I have heard it said he is a pretty decent guy...

waterpark maybe?
Answer 2 :
You cannot legally work in the US until you are 15 years old. Otherwise, you can babysit or mow lawns
Answer 3 :
at the mall there are plenty of sales positions and more? there's the cashiers, eatery, bakery, coffee shops and more? Just check which ones are hiring 14 year for the summer? Good Luck
Answer 4 :
check with your local church or community placement service. i think you will also have to have a work permit from your legal guardian or parent. but you probably dont have a high school diploma yet and a 'real company' requires that at the minimum.

About I live in Dallas, but work in Houston

I live in Dallas, but work in Houston..?
Situation: I live in Dallas, but work full-time in Houston. I come to Houston every Sunday evening to work from Monday thru Friday. Then Friday evenings, I return to Dallas to be with my family. My question is, can I deduct the gas that I'm using to come to Houston to work? During my time in Houston, I stay with family.

Answer 1 :
I think so
Answer 2 :
Generally, NO. We all have to commute back and forth to work. Yours is just a bit longer than most.
Answer 3 :
Prob. not, since your "tax home" is in Houston.
Answer 4 :
If this is a permanent situation (one expected to last one year or more from when it began), no. However, if you were to move to Houston, then you could deduct your moving expenses. If this is a temporary situation expected to end less than one year after it began, after which you will resume working in Dallas, then you might be able to deduct travel expenses, including gas and 50% of meals.

Have you checked local businesses within walking distance or the bus schedules to see where you can conveniently get to? Once you know what areas you can get to and when then you can start applying. Most places these days have online applications.

About where's the best place in Houston to work as a waiter

Where's the best place in Houston to work as a waiter?
I'm looking to change restaurants as business at the one I'm working at now is a joke. Some of the things I'm looking for are: 1. A restaurant that's hiring (obviously) 2. Great tips (again, obviously) 3. Casual atmosphere with upscale clientele 4. Light to moderate side work Any help or suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

I'm not sure if they're hiring but I've heard you get good tips at Steak & Ale
Answer 2 :
Hooters
Answer 3 :
It depends what side of town you live and do you have adequete transportation. The Cafe Abode on Montrose and Westheimer is always packed. They are not snooty upscale, but these folks have cash. Check and see if they are hiring. If not anywhere around that area is where I would go. Good Luck!

About what time should I leave in the morning for work? Houston, TX Trafic

What time should I leave in the morning for work? Houston, TX Trafic?
I need to know the route that is the fastest and least amount of traffic, regardless of toll amounts. I live in New Caney, TX and work on Bissonnet st. I usually go 59 S straight to Bissonnet- But it's a new job and I have to be there at 9. I left at 8 yesterday and got there at 9:10 but today I left at 8 and didn't get there till 9:45. My boss said he'd buy an EZ Tag for me if the Beltway is quicker. I would like the easiest, fastest route possible without loosing allot of sleep. LoL.

leave earlier. man if this is yur job you need to leave by 730 or earlier to get there on time that si sad if you dont' i would get you.
Answer 2 :
bissonet is a long street that stretches from near bellaire in the 610 loop past the beltway west i past hwy 6. if you'r out near the 10,000 block or further out an ez tag for the beltway would be good.

Can California EZ tag work in Houston,TX. or do I have to purchase the one Texas to drive in Texas?
I plan to buy EZ tag from costco California before I commute to Houston, TX.. , but I wonder if the EZ tag will work and pick up the EZ tag that I plan to buy in CA..

Answer 1 :
will only work in Houston and Dallas, the Texas one
Answer 2 :
I'm not sure if it will work and think it's more likely that it will not. Here's a link where you can contact EZ tag Texas and sign up to get one: https://www.hctra.org/
Answer 3 :
No. Each state is obliged to create their own system and I am not aware of any coordinating effort at this time. Here in Florida we call them "Sun Passes"
Answer 4 :
I don't exactly know what an EZ tag is, since Michigan has only one type of license plate besides the Customized plate which costs more, but in our country, the license plates from one state are usually honored by all of the other states. I have driven in Texas with Michigan plates. If you are moving there, you should contact the authorities and check with your insurance company to find out how long you have before you change your driver's license and your plates.

Answer 1 :
sadly i dont have any means to help you financially but being a single father your state should have lots of financial resources to help you get by....you just need to do some research. http://www.twc.state.tx.us/welref/wrchoices.html try this website to start!!! good luck
Answer 2 :
I guess look for a job in the Houston chronicle paper, another paper called "employment guide", on the internet- hotjobs on yahoo, monster.com
Answer 3 :
I used to work for Dillard's at the mall. I would recommend going in and filling out and application bc they hire people monthly. This can be temporary until u find a real job b/c I wouldn't stay there long, (which is why they hire monthly I guess) but you can work there until u find another job! Good luck!
