lol...
Answer 2 :
I don't know in Houston, but try: Fast Food Restaurant Movie Theater Grocery Store Movie Place (Blockbuster/Hollywood Video)
Answer 3 :
Go to the local job center they can help you
Answer 4 :
Stay in your community. Find one of your local community advertisers and pick one of the small businesses that advertise within. Go to them and see if they need help. Also find a company that is service based so you can learn a trade. Meaning, work for a pool cleaner, landscaper, etc. When you get to college you can buy your own equipment and make some money doing the same trade, and be your own boss. Also, keep in mind you must drive to work, so keep your travel expenses down. I played a game with myself at this age. I tripled my travel to work expenses (in theory) and when I got paid I put the difference in a savings account. Over time you get so use to doing this you save a good amount of money. Also do not spend your first two checks. This will always keep you with a little money in your pocket. And get busy with activities. I got so busy I made the mistake of not cashing checks in time. Be it they were only $75 and $80 back in 1990, but I did not know, at the time, checks had a life-span. Just some extra advice. Good luck

Answer 1 :
KFC?
Answer 2 :
You can always ask the warden for kitchen detail at any of the correctional facilities while incarcerated, what a silly question.
Answer 3 :
There are many different places you can go. Particulary ones in the greensheet or on craigslist...a lot of jobs that also pay in cash. Not to be racist or anything, but the Mexicans always have work.
Answer 4 :
The Texas Workforce Commission should be able to help you. http://www.twc.state.tx.us/

Answer 1 :
Pediatric Ward at a hospital. Soup kitchen.
Answer 2 :
homeless shelter or soup kitchen
Answer 3 :
You are a mean and bitter old lady. You should do the work for him. A 13 year old who does not want to be there is way more trouble than he's worth. Don't do anyone any favors. Ask yourself what is the message you are trying to convey? Your child will learn to help begrudgingly and only when forced. Charity must originate from within and be done with a glad heart. You have guilt issues of your own which must be dealt with. Let your child play ball.
Answer 4 :
SPCA
Answer 5 :
Animal shelters. Nothing says "humble" like shovelin' dog poop.
Answer 6 :
try going to city hall and find out
Answer 7 :
museums, hospitals, it really depends on what you like.
Answer 8 :
that isn't going to work. try taking her junk away. Besides if she hasn't learned by now, perhaps its YOU who needs a rude awakening. You made her this way!
Answer 9 :
i volunteer at a hospital. i suggest going to your local hospital
Answer 10 :
Contact your local Red Cross, they are always looking for volunteers! Congratulations on a Brilliant Idea! Where my kids go to school, they have to fulfill 40 hours a school year of community service, or they don't pass. I think all schools should offer that.
Answer 11 :
SPCA??? im not to sure..he might be a bit young.I know at the auckland spca if there under 14 i think they need to be under parental supervision.hey it would be a bit of fun for you!
Answer 12 :
oh oh i used to live in corpus and i'm 13 my mom wants the same thing. in houston there are a couple of soup kitchens around and a big place to cheack out are hospitals. hope i helped!
Answer 13 :
wont teach him nothing as the child will still come home to his meteriral poessions. you need to take away all the stuff he or she holds dear. then make them earn them by doing chores around the house.
Answer 14 :
find your city newspaper and in there should be a section once a week that will ask for volunteers or ask for people needing help. Or go to a university or her school, they have a wonderful collection of stuff for students. also go to the city's website I have posted.
Answer 15 :
I work at MDAnderson Cancer Center as a volunteer every summer. Just once a week for 4 hours is the minumum. I racked up about 50 or 60 hrs that I can brag about AND put on my college resume. I got to see patients in the hospital and it really opened my eyes to the real world. Volunteers can work with full contact with the patients, or just some, or none. I worked at a popcorn machine in the hospital one year and I got to serve popcorn to the people who work there, patients, and anybody else in the building. It was a great experience. Hope this helps!!! : )
Answer 16 :
Almost all churches would be grateful for the help, and your kid just might learn a thing or two about true appreciation while there.
Answer 17 :
TRY LOOKING IN THE HOSPITALS, THEY TAKE VOLUNTEER WORKERS.
Answer 18 :
volunteermatch.com
Answer 19 :
Homeless shelters, geriatric & cancer wards at a hospital, retirement homes, animal shelters - the possibilities are endless. You could also stop giving them everything and make them earn it.
Answer 20 :
I lived in Houston for over 30 years. I just looked for the poorest elementary school in my area (Cunningham Elementary) and volunteered twice a week with children who were not up to grade level in any subject ....but didn't qualify for special education. Those were two of the best years I ever spent. There were only 8 children age 8-11 in the class. The teacher did most of the teaching and I spent my time enriching their lives such as making quilts (individually and then I put the backing, etc. on), learning to hem jeans, etc. for the girls, making Pueblo housing with all of them in geography. Literally I fell in love with these children. If you, as a mom, do this for punishment to your daughter, what good does it do. You should be the example of gratitude, love for mankind, and your own charitable work where you could easily find charitable ways for her to participate in the greatest joy in life .....and that is SERVING AND GIVING.....
Answer 21 :
My mom is making me voulenteer at my church. I think that it has helped. But now she wants me to voulenteer at an animal shelter. And now either of those work. I am not saying it may help your son/daughter but my mom said it worked for ME.
Answer 22 :
I would take him to a rehabilitation hospital that caters to children & teenagers. Have him see how kids live who have been burned, paralyzed or have cancer. It will change him forever. Have him do service hours there or at a Ronald McDonald House. I am a Girl Scout leader and my troop puts in many community service hours each year. The most appreciative are the elderly. Their faces just light up when we come play board games, sing or do arts & crafts with them.
Answer 23 :
Any right-to-life organization
Answer 24 :
I signed mine up at the Senior Citizens Center in our town. She got to eat lunch with them and then bring around the trays. She helped cut up their food if they needed it. She wiped the tables and put away the chairs. She helped with the bingo games and basically she did anything else they needed. She didn't want to do it at first and I told her if she did it the first week and didn't like it, she didn't have to do it anymore. She LOVED it. So much she got herself up everyday after the first week, got dressed and walked down the 2 blocks to the center. They loved her. :)
Answer 25 :
I'm not sure if they have one where you live, and i live in England so i wouldn't know, but are there any youth forums? or youth councils? :/.
Answer 26 :
Homeless Shelters always need help with maintenance, serving food at meal times and janitorial
Answer 27 :
Hello, Boy that is a hard one to anwser but I think that it might be a good wake up call if he volunteered at a retirement home. He may learn something from the older people he comes in contact with and retirement homes are alway's looking for volunteer's. Thank ou for readingand I hope I helped you. Deb

Basically, you go to the courthouse, and fill out the forms they will give you. There are people there who can answer questions, but the forms are actually pretty simple. It is designed to work without lawyers, so you are not expected to state things in great detail or in legal language. You just need to explain briefly and clearly why you are suing. "John Jones agreed to pay me $1,000 to repair his garage. I finished the work in July 2010, and I have still not been paid." If you have any evidence on paper, like a contract, a cancelled check, photos, etc., have *copies* made. Your claim should be for the cost of the work/contract, PLUS the cost of filing the lawsuit, plus any expenses, such as for copying. If you win the case, the judge will order the other person to pay. If he doesn't do that, you can have the sheriff seize his assets and auction them off, assuming he has any. All too often, people don't pay what they owe because they have no money to pay with. But if he has a car or other easily sellable asset, that can be seized. If he has real estate, you can put a lien on the property. And yes, having a judgment recorded against him will damage his credit history badly, at least if it doesn't get paid right away.
