Answer 1 :
Most companies in Houston are not hiring anyone at this time. Slow employment at this time. I have 21 years exp. and can't get a job, except making sandwishes for min. wage. Having a Masters, does not even matter.

Why can't you do it yourself?
Answer 2 :
You might try the phone book. It has provided me with a way to contact folks that are still not on the internet or are concealed by all the interference and clutter on the web.
Answer 3 :
Do a Yahoo or Google search on "animal shelter Houston". The zip code you provided appears to be in Austin. Check if the SPCA has a location near you. Check with Citizens for Animal Protection (CAP) and other volunteer organizations.

typically, no. a 14 year old cant work in texas, let alone houston. if you are looking for something for him/her to do then maybe she can baby sit. other than that i dont know, only jack in the box allows 17 year olds to work, every other place i know one has to be atleast 18. note: if the kid is clever(bright) then enrol them for dual credit classes at a community college, then she/he can work up to 20 hours at the college thats about it. hope this helps

i would say upn
Answer 2 :
Try chron.com or snagajob.com. chron.com is our local newspaper and has lots of job listings. You sure you wanna move to Houston? ;P The freeways are INSANE!
Answer 3 :
I think you want to look into advertising agencies. I was in marcomm field after college. I remembered big companies didn't like to hire newly grads, unless you were their summer intern. However, you can get your feet wet by applying with temp agencies and visiting lots of career fairs. You can look at chron.com for any upcoming fairs. Also, join network groups like Chambers of Commerce or local chapter of professional groups, like American Marketing Association. Not sure about "media companies", I wonder if you want to work for TV stations or publishers. That would require additional experiences.
Answer 4 :
KTRK has a great staff of people and they're always looking for quality people. Stay away from the Houston Chronicle because they're laying off people left and right. The City governments are looking for PR people like the City of Houston and the City of Sugar Land. Find where you'll be living and contact them. Other wise... Go to www.simplyhired.com to view more options.
Answer 5 :
Try Christian Impact News! www.christianimpactnews.com call (281) 791-0200 ext. 71 (Jack Byars, Publisher) call him, I have heard it said he is a pretty decent guy...
